Longview Housing Authority’s Phoenix House, Kelso, Washington
Gibbs & Olson was hired to identify necessary utilities and provide site design for the one acre site. The project involved constructing three new buildings with a combined footprint of 12,000 square feet. Project components included water, wastewater, stormwater, paving and grading, erosion control and frontage street improvement to Clark Street including new curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway access. A 5,500 square foot pervious asphalt parking lot was constructed to provide 12 parking spaces, including two ADA accessible spaces. Pervious asphalt was used to help reduce the runoff from the parking area and was beneficial in helping the project meet the requirements for the Evergreen Sustainable Development Standards.
