Roy Morse Pump Station

Client—City of Longview, Washington

The existing sewer pump station was in poor condition and had reached the end of its useful life. The pump station was replaced as part of a larger project which upgraded six pump stations within the City. Gibbs & Olson provided the survey, design and construction phase services for the new station. The existing pump station facility was demolished. The new pump station included a new wetwell using a precast concrete caisson with top hatches. A valve vault, flow metering vault, and a 4-inch ductile iron forcemain connection to an existing forcemain, were also replaced as a part of this project. Two sanitary sewage pumps were installed in the new station, each with a capacity of 150 gallons per minute.  The electrical, control and alarm systems are contained within a stainless steel, pedestal mounted, climate-controlled and SCADA ready panel. The panel is mounted within a CMU electrical enclosure structure. A receptacle and transfer switch for connecting a trailer mounted standby generator were also included.
